In a previous thread I posted about the G/F's 2005 Grand Am alarm going off in which the horn blew continually. Got that problem fixed.

Last night the horn beeped when the car was locked with the keyfob.

Now the horn does not blow at all. I have checked fuses, horn relay, started the car and turned the wheel. Tried the horn button to no avail.

The relay does not click. I am really hitting my head agaist the wall on this. :banghead:

Any suggestions?

John

Does the other controls work on the steering wheel?

All controls, headlight stalk, wiper stalk, cruise, blinkers , heater and radio works. The radio is after market but has nothing to do with the horn. Noted the steering wheel on the right side feels soft at the horn button.

Entire car works. But the the horn......this is driving me crazy.

Do you feel like there's alot of wear + tear on the steering wheel horn button?

Doe's the BCM have anything todo with the horn?

I wonder if this could be the issue:
if the switch on the steering is shorted, there is a chance that there is a protection that just cut it...

The switch go to the BCM. The BCM control the relay. The relay control the horn.

The reason why they do that is so the BCM can also control the horn, like in a crash, anti-theif, door lock signal (open the front door, press once on lock, on some model it won't lock the door right away. close the door. 10 seconds after the last door has been closed (it can be opened during those 10, it will reset the timer) it will lock the doors and will quickly beep the horn)

I know there is a battery saver for the car light, the bcm cut the power after 10 or 15 minutes (which saved me from draining the batt... turned dome light on, searched stuff, forgot to turn it off, left the car, came back 2 days later)
