97 Bonny Chaos

My 97 Bonneville is having serious problems. It started with the low coolant light reading a little low. No big deal since the coolant is fine. Then the door licks quit working either with thr remote or the switch. Only trunk works. After a couple months, traction control went out. During all this, the car surges. At first, it was through most of the driving range. It slowly decreased as we changed coil packs(one at a time). Then only really did it, while cruising at 45-50 MPH and I accelerated. Made me think trans needed adjusting. We've changed fuel filter twice, all 3 coil packs both battery cables, plugs and wires. Now our real problem is that the lights and gauges go haywire. Flashing on and off or just went off. When this happens, the car may or may not stay started. If it dies, it won't start from anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. We put a used body control module on it and still wouldn't start. Instead, random interior gagues would come on and stay on. And this is with the key OUT of the car. This is my first car with all this electronic stuff and I'm not the most knowledgeable mechanic. My last car was a 79 Chrysler Cordoba. I can troubleshoot that, but this has me stumped. Forums I've read say BCM. Going to try a remanufactured one(replaced used with original). Can't find the ground bus, but may not have dug deep enough under the carpet. Can't afford $360 or more for a new computer(Waiting for Monday to see if one I found online is really $35). If anyone has any suggestion, I'd love to hear it. If I know what it looks like and an approximate location, I can find almost anything.

Okay, dug down and got the ground bus cleaned. Both drivers side and passengers side. About the only thing that changed is the instruments aren't randomly coming on anymore. Or at least not yet. Is there any other grounds I need to find. I could have sworn I read somewhere that there was suppose to be another in the trunk or something. I've read so many forums that I'm starting to mix my information up now. Another thing I forgot about is our exhaust pipe had come loose and had to be resecured. I meantion it because when it would scrape, we'd get a moment of crazy intruments, then the traction went out. Doesn't make sense to me, but it does seem related somehow.

No start means no crank or it cranks but won't fire? The main ground for the windows and fuel pump is under the l/s ft outer carpet area/sill it is buried in a lot of tape, a group of black wires spliced together.

When it doesn't start, it does absolutly nothing. No sounds whatsoever. I believe my main problem lies within all the other problems. Once they're solved, the car should start without a problem since everything else happened before it started.
