I am home for the summer from college, and today at about noon, I heard this huge ass crash, and I go outside, and what do I see? A 99 prelude in the middle of my neighbors house! From what police told me, a 99 Prelude, and a 98 Subaru Impreza started racing along a street that goes right by the local junior high, where the speed limit is 25 mph. This road is only two lanes, and there is a long stretch about 1/3 mile long, until the road curves really sharply to the right. I guess the prelude was in the wrong lane, and a car came around the curve going the other direction, so the prelude swerved to its left, right into my neighbors house. According to police, they were going around 70-80 mph. Both of the kids are juniors in highschool and were off on their lunch break when they raced. The prelude was totalled, and the kid just got this car like two weeks ago and poured a bunch of money into it, and now its all gone. The house really got messed up too, a gas line was broken, and there was thousands of dollars worth of damage to the house. They were both arrested, and they face up to 3 months in jail, and thousands of dollars in fines. Luckily no one was hurt though. The kid in the Prelude would be the starting quarterback for the highschool next year too, but not any more, the coach doesnt put up with sh*t like this. So the moral of the story is, dont street race! and if youre gonna, dont do it in the middle of the day in a residential area with 60+ plus junior high kids watching from the football field while in PE class!

Nope never been down there, I just turned 16 about four months ago, by the way I have a black 99 Civic Si, which I havent really had the time to do anything major to other than some rims and a system.

I wish I had a 99 SI when I was 16, its taken me almost 4 years and I still cant afford one.

Yeah, I got lucky, it was actually my neighbors car, and they are really good friends with my parents, so since they never really drove this car anyway (They are pretty wealthy, and they have a Range Rover and an H2, so this was just their good gas mileage car or something I dunno) Anyway being the kind elderly couple that they are they sold it to my parents for really cheap, and ever since then its been my car, and I love it.

I talked to the kid with the impulse today, and to his credit, that thing was actually alright. He had just turboed the engine and got it dynoed, and it put out 242.3 hp to the wheels :eek: which is respectable. He also just got a a kit put on it, but it wasnt painted yet. He just got all of that put on a week ago, and now hes gonna have to sell the engine cus the car is totalled.

No they diserved exactaly what the got. Dumb ass kids trying to race in a frickin residential district. If I was the owner of that house I would have beat the crap out of the stupid punk.
