Here is my first try. I was browsing this forum last night just out of curiousity, and I really liked what I saw. So I thought I would give it a try. I really had fun with this, so maybe I will go out and get some real tools (did this with just a pencil and paper towel for shading). I also used vellum just because we had some lying around at work, and I wont do that again. It is very unforgiving. I am also going to use a graph next time cause it was really hard to get the proportions close by freehand.
Tell me what you think, but be gentle cause it`s my first try:

nice.. i don't know if the shadow on the ground is right... but the proportions look good.. maybe just make the right passanger window a lil thinner... but looks real nice.

Wow, your very first drawing! That is very good. The camaro looks excellent.

You should turn the front wheels to the viewer's right and now your camaro is drifting :)

nice job man, especially for your first go.:flash: keep practicing, it looks like you already have a very good base to start on.

have you ever done art of any kind...maybe at school. if not then your skills are even greater than those of mortal men.

Pretty nice. Great shading for a first try. The right side around the window does look a little messed up, but everything else looks good.

Thanks everyone. You are all too kind. I got ideas and inspiration from reading the posts here. I am going to go to the art store and get some stuff to do color. I was thinking either color pencils or pastels. Any suggestions?

pastels are hard to work with if ur a newb.. try pencil crayons, i myself sould just do a good shading job on it

nice job on the camaro hawk. the side of the car needs alittle work tho, it might be helpful to draw a box in perspective and then build the car inside. oh and if your trying to color it i would suggest prismacolor colored pencils, pastels would be just a mess(oil or chalk). but the easiest coloring by far is with the computer painter7 or photoshop clean easy no waste and you can always start over.

Thanks. It`s definitely not the first drawing I ever did. Just the first in a long, long time. I did have art classes in school, but that was over 10 years ago, and I`m not sure I remember much of anything that happened in school.:p  :D We certainly didn`t draw cars. :( :crying: This was just my first try drawing something using some of the techniques I found on the board. I even did the "lead globe" shading exercise just before drawing this car.
