02 Bonneville Dash Problem

I fixed the A/C issue and a week later, my new/old 151K Bonnie just started having a new issue. Driving in the morning, dark out, the dash lights turn off (the whole dash dash goes dark) along with the A/C control module's lights and functions; simultaniously the headlights flicker for a moment, and then the dash re-illuminates as if it was going through a start sequence. The a/c controller resets the air dampers and returns to its last programmed settings. The speedometer, tachometer, and the running performance of the engine were not affected.
This happened several times, in what seemed like 2 minute intervals. I drove it the last 10 minutes to work when it started happening to me.

Any ideas where I start looking at this problem?

I did find a few references on this site concerning cleaning the ground that services the dash located on the driver side underneath the kick panel. I unscrewed the 10mm bolt, cleaned the washer attached to the bolt, scraped the contact surface for the washer/bolt, disconnected the ground connnector and cleaned the jack surface. So far after one 20 minute drive I haven't run into the dash lights off issue.

Anybody know where specifically the tan/white serial cable is located under the carpet on the driver's side? I couldn't find it.
