99 chevy blazer A/C leak

We have had a 1999 blazer for about 3 years now and have fought with an A/C leak in the passenger floor board since we bought it. We took it back to the dealer while it was under warranty and were told that the hose was just clogged. This was not the case as I suspected that it was not because the next time it was used there is a small lake in the floor board again.

Has anyone ran into this same issue and if so what was the root cause. I have heard that it could be the condenser casing that is causing it or that the hose just stays clogged. But if it is the hose, what keeps making it clogged.

OK now it could be a poorly sealed HVAC case, a missing grommet. Best way to do it is put your garden hose TURNED ON LIGHTLY, put it on the roof pointing down on the windshield. Now pull the carpet back and look for the leak starting to come inside to locate the source of the leak. And then you can decide what needs to be done!

Looks like the evaporator drain inside the vehicle is either at a wrong angle causing condensation to deposite inside the vehicle or the the drain tube is cut and draining inside the vehicle and not outside. The drain tube comes from the inside of the evapaorator box to the outside of the vehicle.

Ahh, this seems to be a problem with these trucks.

I bought a Blazer Xtreme new 2 years ago and that was the first problem I had with it. I thought it was because I had such a new vehicle (they had just started making the Xtreme's) that it was just one of those "new design flaws". Even though the basic design has been out a while.

Anyway, the dealer said it was the EVAP case that wasn't sealed right from the factory. They sealed it and put in a new hose (just to be sure)and I haven't had a problem since.

I did what Flatrater mentioned before I took it to the dealer with the garden hose and I did see water coming in, it was just too far behind the dash for me to get to it. So had the dealer do it. And why not, it was covered by warranty.
