2000 Blazer Brake Controller

Anyone know if the Blazer's (specifically, 2000 S10 LS blazers) have wiring plugs for trailer brake controllers? Or do I have to hard wire the sucker the old fashioned way? I love the fact that they pre-wired for the trailer plug (turn signals, etc.)!

Thanks,
JDog

I have a 2000 LT blazer. I am like you but I follow the wireing harness from the rear bumper to the front and found that if you remove the air cleaner assm. under it going to the power box is two (2) wires. A blue one for the brakes on the trailer and a red for a 12 volt power for a trailer. I still dont know if I have to hard wire at this point or not. Hopes this helps and not to late.

Also have 2000 LT Blazer with tow package and would like to know how to hook up a brake controler. I would like to pull a heavier trailer and will need one. Also at what weight trailer is one required? Come on someone can answer these questions please.

I dont know when brakes are required but the pop up I bought came with then so I had to add it. I took the 12v powere wire and wired a relay in it so it is omly hot when the blazer is in the run position. I took the same power from the powere box to power the controler. I used the ground lug above the brake master cyl. on the firewall and if you look at your brake switch there are two white wires which I used for the sence wire for the controler. Works great! I did run a 14ga 4 conductor flat wire just above the main harnes in to the driver compartment about 4 foot long to finshed up the wiring and all my conection are soldered and srink tube. Hope this helps.
