94 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM cranks but won't fire up.

I recently replace a split vacuum line going into the throttle body, vacuum line on driver side of intake manifold (U shaped hose) vacuum for PCV valve and the water heater line was busted going into the throttle body. Prior to that the car was running rough. I figured it was due to the vacuum line break. After repairs took the car out and it still ran rough but not at high RPM's. Parked the car, talked to a friend who own's same model car. Told me I may have messed mapping sensors up by unplugging everything.

About an hour later went out to start the car. The motor would crank strong but would not fire up. All connections around the throttle body are plugged in. I put a code tester, (the kind that blinks the service engine light off and on) to give you the codes. It did not even work.. The radiator fans do come on when you plug in the tester but that is it....I am clueless.

Anyone have any diagnostics suggestions?

Other thing I did was when the vaccum line to the pvc valve was leaking it put some oil over the top of the water pump and top front of the motor block from the throttle body. So I cleaned it with engine cleaner and hosed it off. You don't think I damage the opt-spark distributor?

Thanks in advance for your help. Don

the opti may need to dry out.

Thanks Wright! It has been been since last Saturday when I did the oil cleaning above the opti-spark and we have been hitting almost a 100 degree's every day here. I think it should have dried out by now. My next step is to spray some carb cleaner into the throttle body and make sure its not fuel related.

One would think that should be enough time.
