does anyone know where to buy zip-up CV boots (or good split boots)

I posted this at G20.net, but haven't gotten a reply yet - anyone here know the answer????????????????????????????????????????????

I just discovered a split in my driver's side outside CV boot. It doesn't appear to have lost too much grease inside yet and there are no noises from the CV joint. Taking off the drive shaft and/or replacing the CB joint AND the boot seems unnecessary and from readin other posts here it sounds like the labor to just replace a regular (unsplit) boot is about the same as to replace th CV joint or the half shaft.

I'd like to try a good quality split boot. My research indicates there are "zippered" boots available, but I don't know if for Infiniti G20. next best would be a high quality split boot - I've seen some that have a single split and nut and bolt at top.

I'd appreciate any advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have two split boots right now, both front. When I had a split boot on my Sentra, my dad and I just swapped in a new axle, which ended up costing around $65 after core refund from Autozone. He said it's better to just do a whole new axle than try and get the boot to reseal. So, that's what I'll do shortly on my G, as soon as I'm able.

sounds like a new axle and solid boot is the way to go..........but damn, why don't those boots last longer???????????

Anyway, maybe it has something to do with the desert, drying out the boots and causing them to split?

I split both my CV boots on my driveway in 10 minutes by spinning the wheels on the engine with each side jacked up in turn (don't ask why!), so I'm convinced they split when the suspension is fully extended. Possibly they go when a lot of speed bumps are driven over too fast.
