Power Steeringtriggert 05-09-2003, 02:03 AM Can you tell a major difference when you lose your power steering? Reading up on the H22A swap and it was stated that if you have power steering it will take some crafting to keep it with this swap. It was recommended that you take it out for good cause it will only drain desirable power from the motor. Thanks, William T. Thompson SiRII 05-09-2003, 02:24 AM my b16a sir2 motor. i got rid of a lot of things. the less the pulleys the better i think. i got rid of my power steering and ac. i'm basically running crank and alternator. using the JDM CTR N1 Crank Pulley http://www.jdmspecperf.com/products/jdmhonda/pulley.jpg This is a genuine OEM Honda crank pulley from the EK9 Civic. Weighing in at a mere 2lbs vs. a stock unit that gets up near 10lbs!! Will fit ALL B series motors. using this will AUTOMATICALLY eliminate usage of AC!! 94tegRS 05-09-2003, 08:59 PM PS is very good to have, especially with a stick, cuz when I have no ps, it takes me both hands to turn the wheel while stopped, then I gotta shift, wiht PS, right hand shifts, left steers, with auto t just takes me less time to do it all. B16 SiRII 05-10-2003, 12:47 PM Power steering is overrated. There is almost no difference when going at higher speeds with a car that has or doesn't have it. Plus, like CivicHBsi91 said, you can feel the road better in my opinion. Take that sucker out and get strong turning that wheel! 94tegRS 05-10-2003, 03:54 PM I agree about it doesnt matter when moving, but in tight situations like turnign around on a street with drop offs on both sides, you dont got much room to move forward and back. I guess in a smnall car then yeah you do, but my old truck wasnt small. but does PS take much power at all anyways? Im sure it takes some, but will you notice the power without it. SiRII 05-10-2003, 03:57 PM 94Teg, old trucks with no power steering is no joke. that's a bicep workout all right. Now for the civic, definitely felt more power as i lessened the pulleys. Minus the power steering you wont feel too much power but getting rid of the ac you will feel the power difference. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
