Just finished watching a great documentary about Moab...one question When are we leaving?. It would be so cool to get a hord of guys together and do some rock crawling..even Gwen (da woman) wants to go !

Claus! We all be goings to Moab around Easter time! Not Easter weekend! That weekend is big Jeep Jamboree.

April and May are probably the best months there until September. June is hot, July and August are hotter than hell, and September starts the cooldown again. Moab gets very little precipitation, BTW.

If you want details, do a search for Moab on yahoo! or whatever and then look for weather statistics. You will also find sites with many pictures and stuff. That's what I did before we went last spring.

Utah !, 15 hours direct line from Vancouver at a steady pace with a gallon of Starbucks adn some Krispy Kreme....speaking of which

We saw people lining up for 9 hours in Isaquaah for the grand opening...I recognised chuck's tent and Schlud's behind....afterall it is just down the hill EH !

Oh no; I haven't been anywhere near there yet. I may try in the morning though, my coworkers call me Krispy Kreme now and ask me everyday to get some. I thought it was going to bad to have a KK down the hill from me, but since I hate crowds I'm pretty safe as long as they stay busy.

I'd like to see the videotape if you get to Moab in 15 hours from Vancouver. You'll need to add a pee bottle and a warp drive to your list of things to take with you! :D

I had KK in Vegas...Piece of advise..do NOT eat 3 of those when you have a dozen Martinis under your belt...

When Schlud and I came back from MoabGOX II it was about 17 hours to Seattle! I don't know Hoser but you better average at least 72miles an hour like we did! :alien2:

Just a heads up, there will be some (possibly many) Nissans in Moab for Easter Jeep Safari. I can't divulge any information at this time however, but keep it in mind.

Holy crap Rick you haven't followed Claus down the highway yet have you? His foot sometimes gets stuck on the go pedal like he's back on the Autobahn in some Euro-mobile. On the way back from Naches I don't think he let up on the gas once, we were routinely doing 80 or 90. Not my style, big waste of gas and I'm never in that much of a hurry. I guess he missed his schnookums a little bit.

So Moab in 17 hours eh? That's doable. Depending on what my employment status is at that time, it's a definite maybe for me too.

Ok so make it 16 hours to Vancouver..i plan to go east through the rockies and then head down that shud shave a couple of miles off, plus the air is colder up here so it flows easier across the truck which makes it go faster...or something

Huh, kind of bullshit for you to announce that and then not give any details...considering if you don't make reservations now you might as well stay home. Give some idea to people so they can make a decision to go or not...is SLR, Calmini going to be there...is that it???

I don't have enough information at this time, but will when some people and companies get back from SEMA.

Moab does fill up, but they haven't turned back anyone yet for Easter.

I haven't checked, but it probably isn't much different than the drive you guys in the Washington area have. I once drove straight through from Houston to Los Angelas and it took close to 24 hours.

I was thinking of bringing a 1 ton truck and trailer with a Jeep and my Xterra. Would there be somewhere to park something like that where you guys camp? I wouldn't want to leave the truck and trailer out in the middle of the desert somewhere:smoker2:

I talked with Steve from Calmini on my way to West X and he brought it up and said to spread the word about the Moab Easter Jeep week and that they were trying to organize a Nissan (not just Xterra's) gathering for the same time. He said that he would try and get more information out after SEMA.

I once drove non-stop from Vancouver to Montreal, 5000 kms in a Uhaul cube van is no picnic. I split the driving time with another guy, by the time we hit Ottawa (about 2 hours from Montreal) neither one of us could keep our eyes open anymore, not fun!

What's this about reservations for Moab? Reservations for what? Hotels? What, something wrong with camping?

Bree and I are tentatively planning on going with PNWX to Moab in the springtime. Easter might be doable.
