The last driver of our vehicle has lost the ignition keys, and we have no backups. Tried calling several locksmiths in the are and no one services our area.

So we were told how easy it was to just replace the lock cylinder and have new keys with it.

I have heard several tales of how to do this, and all are different. Is there anyone out there who actually knows how to do this in the most economical and efficient manner.

I was told we had to pull the entire steering wheel by one person, about the ignition switch in the lower column.

The I was told not by another, Supposedly we just push two pins in and out it comes.

Steering wheel and tilt wheel stuff and air bag stuff has to come off to change ign key cylinder.
Some special tools required and if air bag it has to be disabled before removing

Take your vin no and proof of ownership to you GM dealer and he should be able to cut you a new key and if it works get a couple of more cut.

If you had a Ford push one pin and key cylinder can be pulled out.
