I don't know if it would fit, but I know that the 91-97 V8 thunderbirds have a 8.8 rearend.

Hey Dave. The Mustang (86-93) rear end will bolt right in as will the TurboCoupe (87-88) one. Depending on year, etc, you may have to do some work on the brake lines. Yes, the TurboCoupe rear end is an 8.8 and should be either 3.55:1 (Manual) or 3.73:1 (Automatic). If you check www.coolcats.net you can find a lot of information about Cougars which all applies directly to Thunderbirds as well. Because T-Birds/Cougars/Mustangs and a few other cars all share the Fox Chassis there are many Chassis and Suspension parts which swap over easily.

93tbird, Although 91-97 Birds and Cougars came with an 8.8, it wasn't a solid axle, it was an independent rear suspension (with a center section and CV axles), therefore wouldn't work in a Fox t-bird.

I have two 8.8 Turbo Coupe rear ends with the disc brakes. They will bolt right in. You may need the metal brake line from the master cylinder, and the emergency cable from a Turbo Coupe, but no biggie. Email me for questions, or if interested in a rear end.

NOPE!! Not unless someone has already changed it out. That should be a 3.45 geared 7.5". I just gave one of those away, and hauled it for free, just to get rid of it. It even has the little drums on it. Pretty much useless unless you are upgrading a 4 cyl early '80s mustang that came with a 6.7". And that's pretty pointless. I still have a 3.55 geared 8.8 from an '88 TC for sale. It's set up for the discs and all, but I only have one caliper, and one disc left for it. If you want it, I'll take $150. You'll have to pick it up, or pay shipping, or if you live somewhere near I-40 we might be able to work out a drop off. My dad travels cross country a lot.

I emailed you about the rear you have for sale and got no response. Is the rear still available? Drop me a line and we can work something out.
