1992 Bonneville Idle Problem

1992 Bonneville-starts and runs great until it nears operating temperature. Then as I come to a stop, it will surge and die. Starts back up and idles normal until I take off and come to another stop. Then idle will continue to surge. When it reaches operating temperature it doesn't seem to surge as bad. Some of the parts already replaced: New purge solenoid, cam sensor, magnet, O2 sensor, throttle position sensor, idle air valve, timing chain. Fuel pressure good. After replacing these parts, it still has the problems, and is in fact seems a little worse. Also, the engine light comes on when accelerating goes off when decelerating. Looking over some of the posts it looks like the MAF might be causing the problem? I will appreciate all suggestions. Thanks in advance!

will it speed up or slow down while driveing it could be the tps that will do that and it will throw a code

Thanks to both Jrs3800 and bigwhitebufflo for their responses.

To answer Jrs3800, the only code it is now showing is a 44. The engine light comes on once in awhile during acceleration and goes off during deceleration.

And to respond to bigwhitebufflo, during normal driving the speed remains smooth. Only when I idled down to a stop has it been surging. The TPS has been replaced.

After spending "too much" on a '92 Bonneville I tried something today. I'm not quite ready to invest in a new MAF sensor so I took it out and gently cleaned it. It actually seemed to run better. Tomorrow morning is when I will know for sure if it made any real difference.

Thanks again for your interest.
